Sophomore Gordie Pine (New Paltz/Gardiner) earned Defensive Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday evening.
Pine returned two fumbles for touchdowns in the Viking’s 6 point loss at Alfred State on Saturday. He had a 41-yard return for a touchdown in the third quarter and also returned a fumble for 48 yards with six minutes left in the game. Pine recorded six tackles (three solo/three assists), including a tackle for loss, and broke up a pass in the Viking’s season finale.
